Who Are You?

The door opens easily and makes little noise. Though Master Kenobi has forbidden students to visit the tower you find yourself walking up the old stone steps. You have your reasons.

The Force tingles in the air around you. In the shadowy light of your glowbar you can make out footprints in the dust. Someone has been here before you.
At the top of the stairs you hesitate. A nightbird cries out somewhere in the darkness. Light flickers from underneath the door before you. Can you hear whispering? Is someone in there now?
You consider turning around and going back to bed, but something tugs at you...
You open the door and step into the tower room. It's very cold...

And empty. Decaying furniture lies scattered around the floor. Tattered pages of some mouldy book flutter half-heartedly in the wind.
Your first sensation is relief - how silly you were to be worried. Nothing here can hurt you, unless you have allergies.
From the window you can see the main Temple compound. The other Jedi are probably sleeping now.

Slowly the hairs on the back of your neck begin to rise. You feel a presence in the room. You turn from the window but see no one. An oppressive air hangs upon this place. A great sadness fills your heart.

As you move towards the door it slowly swings closed, as if pushed by the breeze. The power in your glowbar flickers for a moment and then goes out.

Who are you?

You speak from a script, boy. A script written by Jedi Masters who were dead before you wer ever born. Compassion?! That is not the same as the Love I speak of. I refer to the highest pinnacle of human endeavor...the selfless bond between two individuals. Love, not your new age jedi substitute for it. Not your council approved version. How can one love be right and another be wrong?
Answer that my fine jedi philosopher. Do not qoute me "the path to the darkside" lines. Love causes people to act positively, love creates more love.

Do you know why that policy was started? In the earliest days of the Jedi, and this is a secret long suppressed, masters would take promising padawans as their mates to breed more powerful jedi. Human emotions, such as love and desire, interuppted the cold scientific nature of this plan. Love had to be marginalized in order to allow the jedi order to facilitate the reproduction of their prized students and mentors.

You think you live a code based on morality? Don't be so naive! The Rule is a practical tool used to keep control of a group that would be too powerful if left to its own devises.

You know nothing of me. Nothing of love. And little of your own history. Next time you come to another's home perhaps you will have the good courtesy to listen for a moment before you start spouting your propoganda!
Tell me little jedi, do you have any thoughts of your own...or are they all council approved?

Listen well, little padawans. See the high jedi meet an opposite view with unthinking fanaticism. They will never listen. They never did.
I died here, starved to death. And I never felt the compassion of the Jedi. I did feel their intolerance and small-mindedness though.

You waste my time. Send me a true jedi, instead.
One who has more than read what he is meant to believe...send me one who has actually lived life and made his own decisions.

you misunderstand me master jedi my question was in your favour,, i find it disgusting that anyone way left to starve to death.. there is no need to lose your temper with me.. I cant believe a jedi would do that to another.. least of all a master...

I have alot to think about.. but your sudden out burst has made me wary of you.. i will return later if thats ok?

Forgive me, Seth. Those words were not directed to you, but to this comment by the other jedi.
My displeasure stems from his desire to preach to me the lies in death that were used to end my life.

You should go, Seth. I am afraid the conversation will become heated. But I never meant to frighten you. I am only an old ghost now.

Too many voices in here...

You asked why the jedi punished me...because like this new master they wouldn't listen.

Tal stands infront of this spectre his hands crossed lookin intently at this ghost, "You speak as if I am a puppet to the Jedi, when you are a puppet of your own emotions. That sounds dangerously Sith. You say I do not make decisions for myself, when I was the one who made the decision to come. I was the one who took that boy as my Padawan. I was the one who saved all those Jedi from certian death. I was the one who loves each and everyone of them. And you say I know nothing of love? You are wrong. I do feel love for a human being more then I would a family member.

You say I speak of a script when for thousands of years the Jedi brought peace to this galaxy. Then it was people like you, who were to selfish to look past there own selves. They loved someone so deeply that they would sacrifice everything to still be with that one person. What of Anakin Skywalker? He loved his wife Padame with everything in his heart and soul and the mear thought of losing her drove him mad. It drove him to the Dark Side and now, now we are all but a few because he loved someone. And you do not see why that is dangerous do you? You can not simply understand that your selfish acts to be with the one you love may cause destruction and death throughout the galaxy, as Darth Vader is now doing. Do not speak of love to me when YOU do not know my story. I do have pity for you being left here. I would not have imagined the Jedi doing this. But maybe if you truly thought why they did this you might understand that your quest for love would have driven you to the Dark Side, if you are not already.

I would ask that you not preach to the children again. Giving them influences like this increases there chances of feeling the emotions that they should not feel through the Force. The emotions that drive Sith. Already you have tainted young Seth's mind, I can not allow this. He will not see you again and if I find that he is. I will bring this temple to the ground." It begins raining hard outside as the rain hits what's left of the windows hard ringing in the room. Tal backs away from this spectre but stops, he turns and looks down in a corner and see's the Jedi sitting there in the dark. "Jedi, your young friend has already been tainted. I suggest you deal with it carefully. Also, it would be good if he did not come back. This ghost means to preach about something that I know can be the downfall of everything we are trying so desperatly to build. I will take my leave now. Good luck Jedi."

seth is wiatinf outside in the rain... He looks up at tal "you are wrong!!"

How could the jedi do that to someone.. he was nice to me.. he was angry at him because you strolled straight in and accused him of being bad!!""

the jedi walks out of the building.. upon seeing the jedi seth looks nervous.. the jedi tries to walk up to seth but seth runs away...

The jedi grimaces and looks at Tal... I do not think i would be a good choice as a master for this child..

I wouldn't say that. You two are more alike then you know. But the boys reaction is disturbing. You should go to him and explain what was said.
